Several weeks ago Alice Smith and I talked about authenticity in sales. Well, Alice talked and I interjected from time to time! Her talk was so superb that I thought it deserved a separate article to highlight the main points, in particular the empowered communication techniques, as pretty much all of us struggle with imposter syndrome and the feeling that we have to fit in.

The emotional burden of sales is multifaceted. The pressure to meet targets, the need to foster relationships with prospects, and the internal dynamics with managers and colleagues all contribute to a unique emotional landscape. Women in sales often find themselves navigating these pressures by hiding their true identities and emotions, which is a coping mechanism to shield oneself from potential judgement or perceptions of weakness. Continue Reading
